Relative Caregiver Program Support Group Meeting
Are you raising a relative child or need housing assistance? For more information on assistance and support, please contact Melissa Allison at the Upper Cumberland Development District toll-free at 1-877-275-8233. A support group meeting will be held for relatives that are caring for relative children during the month of November. Please contact Melissa Allison at (931) 476-4127 if you are interested in attending this meeting. For housing assistance, while caring for minor child contact Myra Walker at 931-432-4111.
The Stephens Center Parent-Child Connection
Fall 2021, Series II: Wednesdays 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Sessions are held at the Stephens Center, located at 616 North Church St., Livingston. Certificates will be awarded to parents attending eight sessions within the series. There is no charge for PCC sessions. October 27: “Why Parents Spank” For more information, call 823-6432.
Allons Elementary School’s Fall Festival will be Thursday, Oct. 28 from 5-8 p.m. Please join us for an evening of fun, games, and vendors. Concessions and food will be available.
Head Start Policy Council
The monthly meeting of the L.B.J.& C. Head Start Policy Council has been scheduled for Tuesday, November 1, 2021 beginning at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the L.B.J.& C. Development Corporation, 1150 Chocolate Drive, Cookeville, Tennessee.
American Legion Dance
The Quittin’ Tyme band is returning to Livingston for a special Halloween dance on Friday October 29th from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. Costumes are encouraged – we will be awarding prizes for the best costumes. Come join the ghosts and goblins with a fun filled evening at the American Legion Post located at 121 S. Church St. All dances are family friendly and open to the public, membership not necessary. Concessions are available.
Fall clean up week will begin Monday, November 1 and continue through Friday, November 5 for the citizens of Livingston. Any unwanted items should be placed at the curb for pick-up. Items that will not be picked up include tires, chemicals, wire, fence, and paint. Building materials will be picked up, but the individual will have to pay for their disposal.
Overton County Historical Society will hold regular monthly meeting November 2 at 5:30 p.m. at Millard Oakley Library meeting room all are invited to attend membership is not required invitation to join is always open.
