For most 13-year-olds, a birthday might mean cake and presents. For JD Sullivan of Hilham, his 13th birthday on Friday, June 20 was celebrated in championship style as his WOW Factor TN travel baseball team dominated the World Series tournament in Hendersonville, going undefeated with a 6-0 record to claim the coveted title.
Sullivan, a student at Hilham Elementary, plays first base for the WOW Factor squad. The team’s roster draws largely from the Nashville metropolitan area, making Sullivan one of the few players hailing from the Upper Cumberland region, alongside teammates from Putnam, Cumberland and DeKalb counties.
The World Series tournament saw Sullivan’s team showcased strong pitching, timely hitting and solid defense throughout their six games. Their unblemished record is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire team.
For JD, winning a World Series on his birthday adds a truly unforgettable chapter to his young baseball career.
