Barbetta Belinda (Sherrer) McMaster
Barbetta Belinda (Sherrer) McMaster, 60, passed away peacefully at her home in Byrdstown, Tennessee on the evening of Tuesday, December 5. She was surrounded by her beloved family.
Barbetta was born in Montgomery, Alabama on August 2, 1963, the daughter of Perry Sherrer of Crossville, Tennessee and Barbara (Bobbi) Leonard. She was a sister to Deanna Crumpton (Glenn), Amber White (Jedidiah), Ronnie Leonard (Sheila) and Kelly Piercy (Shane) and was a graduate of Stanhope Elmore High School in Millbrook, Alabama.
She was known as a humble, kindhearted woman who would give the clothes off her back to help someone in need. She was a loyal wife to the love of her life, Bob McMaster, and a devoted mother to seven children: Derek Saffold (Caity), Katelyn Saffold (Jonathan), Melanie Nieves, April McMaster (JJ), Heather Eatman (Blake), Katelyn McMaster and Josh McMaster (Sarah). Barbetta also loved spending time with her eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
As a dedicated friend of Bill W., she was passionate about helping women in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. Barbetta was a talented, artistic woman who practiced several crafts throughout her life and ran a jewelry-making business in recent years. She was also a lover of animals, including her dog Gypsy, cat Diamond and bird Skittles.
Barbetta's Celebration of Life service was on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at the Birmingham Community Church - 2269 Chapel Rd, Hoover, AL 35226. Visitation was at 5pm with the service at 6pm followed by food and fellowship.
Hall Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
NICHOLAS “NICK” ALLEN MAXWELL
Nicholas "Nick" Allen Maxwell, age 42 of Kettering, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023 at the Hospice of Dayton. He was the son of Charles Maxwell and Shelia (Babcock) Pemberton, born on January 24, 1981 in Livingston, Tennessee. He is survived by his parents and stepfather Keith Pemberton of Livingston, brother Rusty (Naomi) Maxwell of Tipp City, Ohio, niece Elizabeth Maxwell of Tipp City, Ohio, nephew Ethan Maxwell of Tipp City, Ohio, uncle Mark Maxwell of Cookeville, TN, aunts Lisa Maxwell of Cookeville, TN, Sharon "Kay" Babcock of Celina, Ohio, many cousins, and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Morris and Grace Babcock and Grady and Elena Maxwell.
Nicholas graduated from Livingston Academy High School with the class of 1999. He graduated from Wright State University in Dayton with a Bachelor's Degree in Insurance and Banking. He was employed at Prime Lending as Senior Loan Officer for 10 years. He was a past president of Dayton Mortgage and Banker Association, and a member of Kettering American Legion Post #598 since 2003. He loved country music and hanging out with his friends, especially the "Arcanum Rough Boys." He loved campfires. He was a true Bengals fan, even in their rough years. He was a huge Larry Bird fan; therefore, he made a lot of trips to French Lick, Indiana. Some of us are sure that Nick thought WWE was real.
