The Tennessee School Boards Association (TSBA) recognized Overton County’s Jarman Hicks, as well as six other school board members who earned Master Board Member status.
To become a master school board member Hick earned 185 credits in the appropriate categories and submitted a portfolio that received at least 25 out of 30 possible points. The portfolio consists of sample policies, references from colleagues, self-evaluation, presentations, advocacy and a written essay.
During the TSBA’s Annual Convention Hicks was also appointed as a member at-large on the 2024 Board of Directors.
