"Operation Hog Eye" Nets Three Arrests in Overton County Sex Offender Compliance Check

Posted

A multi-agency operation targeting sex offender compliance in Overton County resulted in the arrest of three individuals this week. Dubbed "Operation Hog Eye," the initiative saw the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) Sex Offender Registry Unit team up with the Overton County Sheriff's Department, Livingston Police Department, Tennessee Department of Homeland Security, and the U.S. Marshals Service.

Authorities contacted 24 registered sex offenders, finding 18 in compliance with registry requirements. Three were arrested for non-compliance, and three others are under further investigation.

"Operation Hog Eye" is part of ongoing statewide efforts to ensure sex offender registration and compliance. The TBI has assisted in 11 such operations in 2024, with the Overton County check being the third this year.

"It is unfortunate that these checks are necessary, but it is imperative to keep our community safe, especially our children," stated Sheriff John Garrett, thanking all participating agencies for the successful operation.
