The Livingston Academy Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapter showcased their exceptional skills and knowledge at the Upper Cumberland District Agricultural Skills Career Development Event (CDE) on Tuesday, March 4, emerging as the overall winners.
Students from Livingston Academy excelled in a variety of hands-on competitions, demonstrating their proficiency in diverse agricultural disciplines. The team's success was highlighted by several individual first-place finishes. Carson Smith took top honors in Block Laying. John Matthew Cumby demonstrated expertise in Board Fitting, securing first place in that category. Wesley Keisling impressed the judges with his Arc Welding skills, earning him the top spot. Fletcher Copeland proved his mastery in Small Gas Engine maintenance and repair, claiming first place. Corey Lee and Waylon Johnson teamed up to win first place in Land Measuring, demonstrating their accuracy and teamwork. Kullen Neal exhibited his broad knowledge in Tool Identification, securing the top spot in that event. Cale Johnson showcased his electrical skills with a first-place finish in the 3-Way Switch competition.
The outstanding performance by the Livingston Academy FFA team has earned them a place at the Regional CDE, scheduled for Monday, March 17. The team will now prepare to compete against other top FFA chapters from across the region, aiming to advance to the state level.
