County Native Named to ‘All-Legends’ Team

Amy Brown, a former basketball star from Overton County, has been named to The Tennessean's "all-legends" girls basketball team, recognizing her as one of the greatest female basketball players in Middle Tennessee since 1960.

Brown's basketball career:

Started playing basketball in the fifth grade.

Played for Livingston Academy, where she was a standout player and earned numerous accolades, including being named Miss Basketball and an All-American.

Played college basketball at Louisiana Tech University, where she competed in the 1994 national championship game.

Brown's career after basketball:

Returned to her hometown region and became a coach for the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles women's basketball team.

Served as the principal of Rickman Elementary School.

Currently works as the Director of Teacher Education at Tennessee Tech University.

Brown's impact:

Brown has had a significant impact on the lives of many young people, both as a coach and as a teacher educator.

She is passionate about helping students succeed, both on and off the court.
